  Having your web browser's cookies disabled can cause many websites to not display appropriately or, sometimes, not work at all. It is important that you have cookies enabled to ensure the websites you visit operate in the correct manner that they should.

To some, the concept of enabling cookies is a foreign procedure and can prove to be a difficult task. The truth is that it is actually very simple to change your browser's settings to enable and allow cookies. Let's take a look at a few different web browsers and the processes you have to complete for you to enable cookies.

The options available on Internet Explorer for enabling cookies can be found by clicking "Tools" followed by "Internet Options" and finally by clicking "Privacy". Once you have arrived at this page, you will see a few different options as well as a slider that you can adjust by simply clicking and holding your cursor on the bar and moving it up or down.

Depending on how much you move the slider up or down will change your current browser settings for cookies. The higher up the bar you move it, the more restrictions your browser will place on accepting cookies from websites which can cause interruption in the use of some websites.

If you move the bar lower, however, you will change Internet Explorer's settings to allow more cookies which will let practically any website you visit operate properly. It is recommended to set this at Medium as it provides a good balance between security and allowing safe sites.

In the browser provided by Google, Chrome, you have to click a bit more before reaching the cookie options. Select "Options" from the "Customize and Control" menu and after that you will want to click on the "Under the Bonnet" tab.

Once you are there simply look for the "Content Settings" button within the area labeled "Privacy". You will be able to adjust your cookie settings easily in this section. Remember enabling cookies helps to allow websites to operate the way they are supposed to.

Mozilla Firefox is one of the simplest browsers to locate and adjust cookie settings in.   Internet explorer 8 is one of the best Internet browsers around. IE8 comes with some problems though. IE9 promises to be faster, safer, and better than IE8. The time it takes to load a website differs from one Internet browser to another. IE8 seem to do a much better or at least similar job when compared to other browsers. In case you are facing this problem, you then need to try alternative DNS servers like AT&T DNS server, Open DNS servers or Spectra net DNS servers. To change the DNS server in your network connection, you have to click Start -> control panel -> Network Connections. Then, find the Internet connection in "LAN or High speed Internet". Next, right click on connection and select the properties. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 and by pressing the Properties button you can change the DNS server. You can even try the DNS settings one by one and then choose the setting that works for you.

Another possible way to fix this problem is to click the "Fix it for me" section. Then click "Run now" from the Automated Troubleshooting Services" page. This will then scan your computer and detect the root cause of the error. It will then automatically disable add - ones that are found as the cause of error and will even offer additional resources incase the problem is not fixed.

  Sometimes, just when you thought your computer is in a perfect condition, your windows explorer stops working, freezes up, and restarts. You get error messages like "windows explorer has stopped working" followed by "windows explorer is restarting". You have done nothing wrong but the machine keeps stressing you out. Worry no more as this article will you show you how to solve the problem.

You do NOT need to perform a system restore to solve this problem. Nothing is wrong with your computer either. Inserting your OS installation disc and booting off the disc cannot fix the problem. The solution to the problem is very simple and only involves changing your thumbnails to icons. Follow the steps below to fix the problem and your computer will return to stability.

1. Click on the "Start Menu" and go to "Network"

2. Click on "Organize" at the upper right corner of the window. A drop down window will pop up. Click on "folder" and "search options".

3. On the folder option window, you will see three tabs at the upper right-hand corner. Click on "view" and SELECT "always show Icons, never thumbnail". Next, DESELECT "display files Icon on thumbnails" as illustrated below.

4. Click OK and you should be good to go.

  Only a tiny percentage of Internet users ever bother to change the settings of their Internet browser. The wide majority of people just don't see any reason to do so.
