Enabling Cookies in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome

  Having your web browser's cookies disabled can cause many websites to not display appropriately or, sometimes, not work at all. It is important that you have cookies enabled to ensure the websites you visit operate in the correct manner that they should.

To some, the concept of enabling cookies is a foreign procedure and can prove to be a difficult task. The truth is that it is actually very simple to change your browser's settings to enable and allow cookies. Let's take a look at a few different web browsers and the processes you have to complete for you to enable cookies.

The options available on Internet Explorer for enabling cookies can be found by clicking "Tools" followed by "Internet Options" and finally by clicking "Privacy". Once you have arrived at this page, you will see a few different options as well as a slider that you can adjust by simply clicking and holding your cursor on the bar and moving it up or down.

Depending on how much you move the slider up or down will change your current browser settings for cookies. The higher up the bar you move it, the more restrictions your browser will place on accepting cookies from websites which can cause interruption in the use of some websites.

If you move the bar lower, however, you will change Internet Explorer's settings to allow more cookies which will let practically any website you visit operate properly. It is recommended to set this at Medium as it provides a good balance between security and allowing safe sites.

In the browser provided by Google, Chrome, you have to click a bit more before reaching the cookie options. Select "Options" from the "Customize and Control" menu and after that you will want to click on the "Under the Bonnet" tab.

Once you are there simply look for the "Content Settings" button within the area labeled "Privacy". You will be able to adjust your cookie settings easily in this section. Remember enabling cookies helps to allow websites to operate the way they are supposed to.

Mozilla Firefox is one of the simplest browsers to locate and adjust cookie settings in. All you have to do is go to "Tools", then "Options" and finally click on the "Privacy" tab and you will have easy access to all options available for enabling cookies or disabling cookies once you arrive here.   Internet explorer 8 is one of the best Internet browsers around. IE8 comes with some problems though. IE9 promises to be faster, safer, and better than IE8. However, if you are using IE8 and having some problems such as your Internet explorer taking far too long to load, then there is a way to try to fix that.

The time it takes to load a website differs from one Internet browser to another. IE8 seem to do a much better or at least similar job when compared to other browsers. However, on some machines it doesn?t work as expected. This explains why some people love the browser, and why some users, especially those who have had terrible experiences with it on their machines, are giving it a bad rap.

In general, IE8 comes with many features such as default accelerators, adds-ons, IE8 plus-ins and the ones you installed. Therefore, when you type in the name of a site or blog for the browser to use the IP and get you the contents, the browser must load all the plug-ins and adds-on before the contents. This significantly increases the loading time. To make IE8 faster you can disable some of this plug-ins and adds-ons. Incorrect antivirus settings can also have a detrimental effect on IE8. First, disable your antivirus software and try to open safe sites like google.com and Microsoft.com. If the problem is not resolved, then something else is causing the problem. If the problem is solved, you will have to check your antivirus settings or your firewall settings. It is possible one single add-on is causing slowness. In this tip, you start by disabling all add-ons. If the browser works perfectly okay after doing this then you need to enable them one after the other in order to identify the corrupt add-ons.   There are a wide ranges of internet connections. Some are easily available while others are difficult to come by. Your choice of internet connection depends on your location and budget. However, the faster the internet connection you are using, the better for your work. The most common forms of internet connections are the DSL, Analogue (dial-up), Satellite and Cable. Other types of internet connectivity exists, from the very slow to the high-speed internet connections. The Analogue connection, also known as dial-up access, is a very slow and inexpensive type of internet connection. A dialup connection uses a modem, phone line and ISP. With an analogue connection, a subscriber connects to the internet by dialling up a phone number gotten from an ISP. The modem converts Incoming data from analogue to digital and the reverse. The dial up access provides poor internet quality. A Cable modem is a type of internet connection that allows connection via cable TV lines. The Cable internet connection uses TV channels for data transmission. Cable internet provides fast internet access. Cable TV uses coaxial cable, which support higher bandwidth than telephone lines do.

It is important to make it clear that broadband is a general name for cable, satellite and DSL types of internet connections. Broadband internet connections are highly reliable and fast. Like other types of internet connections, they require modems to connect to the internet.

Satellite connection provides uninterrupted internet connectivity. Internet over Satellite uses a communication satellite that is on a stationary position in orbit. Due to the huge distance the data has to be transmitted, the speed of satellite is a bit lower than Broadband types of internet connections. These types of internet connections are used by Internet Service Providers (ISP) to connect to the internet backbone. The main difference between T-1,T-2,T-4 and T-3 internet connections are the number of individual channels. Each individual channel, that can carry both data and voice traffic, has a band width close to 64Kbps. A T-1 line consists of 26 individual channels whereas T-3 has 672 individual channels. Therefore, if you do the mathematics for T-3 lines, we are talking about 43Mbps or more. T-5 is up to 400Mbps. DSL, which also refers to xDSL, uses 2-wire copper telephone lines and it does not require dialling in to an ISP. In fact, DSL is an "always on" internet connection. There are different categories of DSL and they are SDSL, VDSL and ADSL. Fiber-optic is the most common internet connection. It has the highest data rates compared to other types of internet connections after internet2. It is easy to maintain. There are three types of fiber-optic internet connections and they are the plastic optical fiber, single mode, and multimode. Internet2 provides the highest internet speed connectivity. It was developed by a networking consortium to meet the high-speed internet demand for research and education work. It has a speed of 100Gbps. The use of internet2 is not common. The Internet has a lot of security risks. However, there are solutions for avoiding them. For example, installing an antivirus and a firewall is a very good idea. Keeping these programs up to date and running 24/7 is very important too. When you want to purchase goods online, always check the credibility of the website because your credit card numbers will be exposed.
