Facebook Security Tips

The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs.

Facebook is becoming more and more popular these days as more and more people use it to connect with their friends. However, Facebook has some security problems and therefore protecting your Facebook account is important for your security. There are things you can do in order to protect your Facebook account from hackers.

These tips are presented below in this article:

a) Your profile should be made private from your privacy settings in Facebook. This way you will only allow known people to connect with you and see your details. Therefore your photos will be available only for your accepted friends.

b) Another way of protecting yourself would be through blocking the people you do not want to share information with. There is a block option you can use for every Facebook user if you want. People who are now bothering you will not be able to do that anymore.

c) When blocking a person you can report that person for harassment or for cyber stalking. You should report that if you feel it is the case for that.

d) You should only add people you know. This is one of the best Internet security measures. It is not the best thing to constantly add people you simply do not know or never heard of.

e) It is advisable to avoid buying anything from Facebook. There are a lot of applications you need to pay for but try to use only the free things you can. You should not offer your credit card numbers to such third parties.

There are many people who simply ignore all the above security measures. They think that these security measures are not imperative as many people have Facebook accounts and only few of them really had problems. This is true but it is better to be safe than sorry. Even if there are only a small percentage of people having problems with their Facebook accounts, you would not want to be among them.

Information, money, and valuable pictures can be lost if you fail to understand the importance of security measures. After someone hacks into your email or computer it will be too late to take the necessary security measures. It is always better to prevent than to deal with the consequences. So look at Internet security as a prevention measure.

The Internet is full of security risks. There are security risks even where you would not expect. For example, you can encounter security breaches in places such as Facebook or MySpace. The whole idea is that you have to be aware of these risks and try to avoid them. Otherwise, people will gain access to your personal information.

In this article below you will find out 3 of the biggest security risks:

MySpace started its business a few years ago. Since then it has become more and more popular for people all over the world. It has millions of members especially teenagers. Unfortunately, teenagers are unaware of the risks MySpace has.

Based on this lack of awareness and care about Internet security, there were many hackers who downloaded Trojans and spyware onto its members' computers. The best way to avoid this is by having a firewall and antivirus installed. If you have a firewall, you will not need to worry about these risks.

Facebook had one of the most rapid growths in the history of Internet. It was started by a few teenagers and today it is used by millions. Those who hacked MySpace accounts are now trying to hack Facebook members' accounts. There are a lot of widgets and applications you can use in Facebook and that is exactly what makes Facebook so fragile to attacks.

There are Trojans and Spyware that can be sent through a note. Many times this is exactly what happens. One account gets hijacked and it begins sending notes to all of his/her friends. This note will often contain a link to a malware or virus. As a result everybody who clicks on this link gets infected with the virus.

As you saw above, the Internet is full of risks. Unfortunately, there are risks even in places we simply do not expect them to be. For example, let's take a look at eCommerce platforms. They are believed to be extremely secure as you reveal your credit card numbers and sensitive information on them.

In reality, they might as secure as you would think. It is true that the majority of them are quite secure, but there are many businesses that are not secure at all. It is important to trust the business behind the website because otherwise hackers will begin shopping with your credit card as soon as possible. In general, make sure you are only giving your credit card numbers to trusted sites.

The Internet has a lot of security risks. However, there are solutions for avoiding them. For example, installing an antivirus and a firewall is a very good idea. Keeping these programs up to date and running 24/7 is very important too. When you want to purchase goods online, always check the credibility of the website because your credit card numbers will be exposed.

The Internet has a lot of security risks you should be aware of. If in the past the only big problematic transactions were those of Ecommerce, these days you should be careful and watch your step on every website. Wireless Internet security is a new type of problematic action.

It is of high importance that you have a very secure wireless Internet connection. Otherwise, you may be infected with Trojans, Spyware, or other malware. You may end up losing information, money, or invaluable things such as photos or memorabilia. If your wireless Internet connection is unsecure, it is actually a duck sitting on a lake for hackers who are constantly searching for these types of wireless connections.

Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make sure your wireless connection is not exposed. These things are listed below to help you in the fight against hackers:

First of all, you need to be careful when you set up the wireless connection. You should create secure login information and avoid leaving the default one. This way, hackers will find it very difficult to crack your account. Also, you should disable the SSOD so that the wireless connection is not seen by anyone else but you. WPA, WEP and WP2 are important data security protocols that provide powerful security for a wireless network.

It is advisable to install firewall software on all the computers that access the wireless network. Also, the firewall should be updated as often as possible for the best results of protecting your connection. When you are not using the wireless connection, you should turn it off because this way you will reduce the exposure time and decrease the chances of an attack.

You should disable automatic dynamic IP software and do all the settings manually. If you do not know exactly what to do, it is advisable to ask the wireless seller. The remote administration service should be kept disabled at all times because if it is enabled, anyone can change your settings.

Nowadays, wireless Internet security is an important aspect of our lives. This is because wireless connections are more and more popular and hackers find new solutions of cracking them. If you follow the above tips, you will minimize the risk of having security issues of your wireless connection.

Taking the time to learn and customize your wireless connection will certainly repay itself in having lesser security problems in the future.

Many people complain about their Internet security nowadays. There are a few things you can do in order to ensure a better Internet security and therefore protect your computer from viruses and other malware. In this article, you will find a few easy steps for protecting your information.

First of all, if you are a Windows user, you should install the service packs. You should automatically update your Windows with newer patches. You should be careful when installing programs from the Internet and check the website's credibility before doing so. Having an antivirus and a firewall are very important and keeping them up to date and running 24/7 is crucial too.

You should make sure that Internet Explorer is as safe as it can be. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer has had a lot of problems in the past and therefore you should make it safer or choose an alternative browser. There are many alternatives for this such as Mozilla Firefox or Opera which are believed to be more secure than Internet Explorer. The vast majority of browser attacks are made on Internet Explorer as it is the most popular browser being the default browser Windows has. This is probably the major reason that IE users report more security issues than Firefox or Opera users. Next, the security level of your Internet options should be set as medium-high or high in order to prevent any attacks on the browser.

There are a few email security features you should know in order to protect the valuable information. The default Windows email is Outlook Express. However, just like Internet Explorer, outlook Express has a lot of security issues unsolved. Using an alternative email such as web based ones is a better option as you can delete viruses before downloading them on your computer.

As I said before, an antivirus is a must when it comes to Internet security. You should also take the time for updating your antivirus program because newer threats appear every day in the world of malware.

The Windows firewall is a good solution in this domain. Many people choose alternative firewalls to protect their computers, but the truth is that those are for advanced users. If you do not know how to configure an alternative firewall, you might end up with a slow working computer and not that great of protection.

In conclusion, making your computer a safe environment when it comes to Internet security is not a very easy task to perform but it is a necessary thing to do in order to protect your computer, information, and in some cases your money from hackers attacks. If you will follow the above tips, chances are you will not be confronted with virus problems.

Twitter is becoming more and more popular these days as more and more people use it to tweet about what they are doing. However, Twitter has some security problems and therefore protecting your Twitter account is important for your security. There are things you can do in order to protect your Twitter account from hackers.

These tips are presented below in this article:

a) You need to create a strong password for your twitter account. Also, don't give your password if possible. Check out Creating a Secure Password for more info.

b) Another way of protecting yourself would be through blocking the people you do not want to share information with. There is a block option you can use for every Twitter user if you want. You can find this "Block" option by going to the profile on the user you wish to block.

c) When blocking a person you can report that person for harassment or for spamming. You should report that if you feel it is the case for that.

d) Be careful which links you click on, especially from users you don't know or you don't know well. To go along with this, don't use your password on suspicious third party sites. Tons of these pop up everyday and you can not know for sure which ones are legit.

e) Don't be too specific with personal posts. Say, "Just went to the bank" versus "Just took out $1000 from the bank".

Information, money, and other valuables can be lost if you fail to understand the importance of security measures. After someone hacks into your email or computer it will be too late to take the necessary security measures. It is always better to prevent than to deal with the consequences. So, look at Internet security as a prevention measure.
